At the turn of the 21st century, New Media has become a matter of course and the technology of electronic data processing is constantly being perfected. The promise that all spheres of life will be digitalised and made immaterial seems to have been fulfilled. Just how immaterial is data really? Does it not carry a certain amount of weight, after all? What role does the subject play in the virtual data space?

In this exhibition, the Academy of Media Arts will question the arrival of the virtual future and, as the exhibition title suggests, expose the immaterial as Heavy Matter.

No topo do que era para ser a casa de força de emergência, foi construído um pequeno parque de diversões. O teto dessa construção foi feito para resistir a um impacto direto de uma bomba. Alguns amigos tomaram coragem e enfrentaram o disco! In the top of where it was supposed to be the emergency power facility, it was built this small park for kids. The ceiling was made in order to resist a direct bomb impact. Some friends of mine had guts to face the disc!
Existe um parque de diversões em Kalkar, Alemanha, onde se pode fazer um racha em condições controladas. Os carros correm sobre trilhos, mas o rugido do V8 e a cantada de pneus é real!!! There is an amusement park in Kalkar, Germany, where you can ride wildly in controlled conditions. The cars run over tracks, but the V8 roar and the tires spinning on the asphalt were real!

Tim poses in front of the ice cream machine. Ice cream, drinks and French fries are free in this family park... (best viewed in Large) 29 july, 2009 Amusement park Wunderland Kalkar is situated at the grounds of the nuclear reactor SNR-300. The reactor was built from 1972 until 1985 but was never used due to many protests. In 1991 the project was officially cancelled. Four years later the reactor was put up for auction and bought by the Dutch investor Hennie van der Most for only 2.5 million euros. The site is transformed into an amusement park named Kernwasser Wunderland (Nuclearwater Wonderland). It includes a hotel with 400 beds. In 2005 it was renamed into Wunderland Kalkar.

However, by the mid eighties, the disaster at Chernobyl and other political issues meant that development effectively stalled – the building was finished, but none of the radioactive materials were there; the government abandoned it, and the German taxpayer was effectively left with a concrete shell costing 3.5 billion euros.

When a dutch businessman bought the complex in 1995, he decided to turn it into a hotel and amusement park – ‘Kernwasser Wunderland’, which translates rather unappealingly to ‘Nuclear Water Wonderland.’ By far the coolest activity in my eyes has to be the ability to both go inside and free climb up the huge painted cooling tower.

Despite the obvious stigma of holidaying at a Nuclear Power plant, over half a million people visit annually. And if you still have a nagging worry, you can be reassured by their slogan – “this whole complex guaranteed free of radiation!”

A very enjoyable album of 80s dance/pop/rock- for a commercial group, Roxette had the whole package: solid melodies, capable lyrics, excellent vocals (with an especially nice contrast between the male and female voices), generally terrific production (sure, it's dated, but fun); the only thing close to a dud here is 'View From A Hill' which could have been left off and gone unmissed by me; this album gets a point less from me than the next two because there's not quite as much here that truly touches the heart as there is on their later work- but nevertheless, get LOOK SHARP! and have a blast!

I gave a recent spin to much of what I own in the Roxette catalog, after seeking to add a few of their songs to my digital device. In listening, I found that Roxette really are the binary opposite to the Eurythmics. There is so much light and brightness in the music, that even the songs with less-than-happy lyrical concepts like "Cry", "Sleeping Single", and "Listen to Your Heart" feel more like reasons to be resilient rather than resignations to sadness. The album is time-stamped and there is no other time than the mid-80's that would have allowed this kind of a production (even in the current Pro-Tools to infinity setups employed by many modern acts). Not to cop out entirely, but the highlights are the radio hits "The Look", "Dangerous", "Dressed for Success" and the album track "Half A Woman, Half A Shadow". If you lived in America anytime between 1988 and 1991 you have heard at least half of the album on the radio and Mtv. These days, the songs still make appearances on modern easy listening/adult contemporary radio, and the original versions also can be found occasionally on the Muzak channels piped into grocery stores and shopping mall food courts. More than a few of their songs have made their way onto hits packages and compilations of the '80's, (not to mention Roxette's own retrospective, DON'T BORE US, GET TO THE CHORUS). If you like any of it, you'll like most of what you'll find here.

Upon release, I was embarrassed to admit just how much I liked this band. This is very slick, shiny, professional, pop music; and I was coming out of my hard rock/metal lust and moving towards the indie rock/grunge that was to come. There was nothing "cool" about Roxette, and everybody from 6 year olds to fully grown insurance salespeople found something to enjoy in their music. I had always gravitated to "image" and Roxette severely challenged me to overlook image and take music for what it was. JN0-303 To be honest, I doubt I would've liked Roxette so much if I hadn't gone through a phase that expanded my taste to include The Fixx and Wang Chung (finding both bands to be quite enjoyable). By this point, I lost my aversion to keyboards and new wave music. "The Look" had a nice Rickenbacker guitar line, but it had a drum machine, synthesizers, and stacked vocals ("Na Na Na Na Na Na", anyone?). "Dangerous" was a full-fledged kitchen-sink production that was potently catchy, so shiny and perfect that only robots could've executed it. This was far simpler and easier to process than most of what I was listening to at the time.

When I was a kid Roxette were the most popular band in the world (at least for me). In the early 90's, when they were riding high on a commercial success of their thrid studio LP "Joyride", I started discovering Roxette's past albums and "Look Sharp!" was the one that caught my attention right after the first listen. I had bought it cheaply on the cassette and soon it became one of the most-played albums in my collection (along with Paula Abdul's "Spellbound" and Madonna's "True Blue"). After twenty-plus years I'm still convinced, that "Look Sharp!" ranks among the finest straight Pop albums of the 80's. Song after song what we experience are great hooks, memorable melodies, easy to sing along lyrics and poppy arrangements. Of course for music purists Roxette and their output might be considered of low quality, because they don't sing about social problems, nor they perform sophisticated, elitist, alternative like music. But judgeing Pop music by these standards is not what it should look like. Pop music is about melody and catchiness and these two ingredients are perfectly incorporated into Roxette's music. Sugary? Commercial? Sure it is, but who can resist irresistible melodies of "Listen To Your Heart", "The Look" or harmonica solo on "Dangerous"? I can't, that's why I still listen to "Look Sharp!".

It's the most important part of our marketing Tiffany & Co," he said. "I absolutely cannot imagine a retailer or designer operating today without a website. We have a social media prada store who has helped us integrate our Facebook page with our blog, the website and Twitter, and it has definitely brought in clients," Gucci Shoes Sale said. "Our big thing right now is video, though. We can take our clients to market with us via the clips we bring back and share on our video Nike Air Jordan. This is really good for Kochi and India. India has a reputation as a developing country and is now catching up to many western countries in terms of development. Clearly this is the catch, with the vastly growing interest in real estate.
